Day 1: Upon arrival at Merida Airport you will be met by your chauffeur who will drive you to Hacienda Santa Rosa.
(We could also arrange a transfer from Cancun/Mayan Riviera).
Day 2: Enjoy the hacienda this morning. Then your chauffeur will take you to Xocnaceh, a convent in ruins where you will enjoy a picnic lunch and relax in a magnificent pool. Afterwards your archaeologist will take you to the magnificent archaeological site of Uxmal. The Temple of the Pyramid has a unique oval layout that transmits a special appearance. All its friezes have interesting relieves. On the western wing we find two entangled plumed serpents. The Governor’s Palace is considered the most beautiful building of the Prehispanic world. Finally your chauffeur will drive you back to Hacienda Santa Rosa.
Day 3: This morning your host will take you to the extraordinary natural sanctuary of Celestun where you will be amazed by the natural treasures and diversity of birds in the flamingo sanctuary. You will see hundreds of pink flamingos. Afterwards you will enjoy some of the best seafood in the world in the casual and authentic atmosphere of a local restaurant on the beach. Then your chauffeur will drive you to Hacienda Temozon.
Day 4: Relax at the hacienda. Visit the cenotes of Temozon and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere in the hacienda. We will pamper you with a Mayan massage at one of the cenotes in Temozon, a superb experience!
Day 5: This morning your host will take you to the fascinating yellow city of Izamal. Izamal, the Town of The Three Cultures is famous for its yellow charm. It has a Maya site with more than 144 ruined buildings, completely integrated into the modern town.
You will explore the village by a horse-drawn carriage and visit the craft workshops in Mayan Houses. You will also visit the convent (the largest in America), climb the pyramid of Kinich Kakmoo and the Museum. Then you will have a traditional Yucatecan lunch. Afterwards your chauffeur will drive you to Hacienda San Jose.
Day 6: Enjoy the hacienda in the morning. Then your chauffeur will drive you to the cenote Xoxempich (sink holes,entrances to underground water systems) where you will have a private picnic lunch. Afterwards your archaeologist will guide you through the amazing archaeological site of Chichen Itza.
Chichen Itza was founded by the Mayas and then taken over by the Toltecas from the Gulf of Mexico. It became the most important town in the Mayan region between the 11th and 13th centuries AD. The Castle is the most important building in Chichen Itza, is located at the centre of the main square and was recently named as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. It was dedicated to Kukulcan-Quetzalcoatl. The buildings at Chichen Itza are decorated with rattlesnakes, birds, stylish figures, a mix of geometrical elements, and designs inspired in plants and animals. At the end of your visit your chauffeur will drive you back to Hacienda San Jose.
Day 7: Today your chauffeur will drive you to Merida Airport. (We could also arrange a transfer to Cancun/Mayan Riviera).
